I am a Counselling Psychologist, receiving my doctorate from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2015. I utilise the emerging field of Developmental Behavioural Modelling (DBM) to integrate my training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based and Humanistic therapies.
Putting the acronyms to one side, I endeavour to work systemically, recognising each client as a whole person, embedded within the various contexts and structures of their lives. I offer a compassionate, strength-based approach, supporting clients to draw out and develop qualities such as creativity, critical thinking, spirituality and self-awareness; qualities that enrich our understanding of ourselves and others others and which help us to find out place in the world.
Over the last 20 years I have worked within the NHS, in high schools and for third sector organisations.
I am registered with the HCPC ( Health and Care Professions Council ) and am and associate fellow of the BPS (British Psychological Society).
I am registered with AXA, AVIVA, WPA and Vitality health insurers.
